Terms of Service for using become.fan

These Terms of Service govern your use of become.fan and its subscription learning services. The service is administered by the administrator of become.fan. Contact [email protected] with questions about your subscription or these terms. By using the service or purchasing a subscription, you agree to the applicable terms.

The learning service

Become provides a subscription path toward software engineering. A personal weekly plan uses your background, available hours, and goal. Project reviews assess submitted work against a rubric. Additional features depend on the plan you purchase. You remain responsible for completing practice, checking your work, and deciding how to use feedback.

The service provides learning and preparation support. It does not award a guaranteed professional status or promise a particular learning result. Your progress depends on factors including your starting knowledge, time, practice, and engagement with the work.

Plans and included features

Learner costs USD 49 per month and includes 2 project reviews per month and questions to an AI mentor. Pro costs USD 149 per month and includes 6 project reviews per month, portfolio review, mock interviews, and an employer profile.

Teams costs USD 499 per month and supports up to 5 seats. It includes a progress dashboard, admin, mentor, and learner roles, SSO, invoices, and SLA. Specific service commitments are governed by the applicable SLA. A Teams subscription does not authorize more than the included number of seats.

Monthly and annual subscriptions

Subscriptions are available with monthly or annual billing. Annual billing costs 50 percent less than monthly billing. An annual subscription is a yearly commitment billed for the annual period, rather than a monthly subscription with a discounted monthly payment.

Subscriptions renew for the same billing interval unless canceled before renewal. You authorize the recurring charges associated with the subscription you select. Review the plan, billing interval, and amount presented when purchasing. You are responsible for keeping the information needed to administer your subscription accurate.

Cancellation and no refunds

Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not reverse a charge for a subscription period that has already begun. You may continue using the paid subscription for the remainder of that period, subject to these terms and the limits of your plan.

There are no refunds for subscription payments, unused time, unused allowances, or a decision to stop using the service. This policy applies to monthly and annual subscriptions. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.

Plan allowances and consumption

Plan limits measure usage during the applicable allowance period. Monthly project review allowances apply to the month, including when the subscription is billed annually. Annual billing does not make all monthly allowances available at once.

Deleting a project, submission, or other counted item does not restore the allowance it consumed. Plan usage records consumption in the period, rather than the number of items still visible in your account. Choose your submissions with the available allowance in mind and contact support if you believe usage was recorded incorrectly.

Acceptable use and account responsibility

Use the service lawfully and provide information you are entitled to share. Keep access credentials and confirmation codes secure. Do not impersonate another person, interfere with service security, attempt unauthorized access, or use the service to distribute harmful or unlawful content.

Submit work you have the right to use and represent your contribution honestly. Do not upload someone else's confidential information without authorization. We may restrict access or suspend use where necessary to address misuse, protect the service, or comply with law.

Your work and learning materials

You retain rights you hold in the work you submit. You permit processing of that work as needed to provide the requested learning features, including project assessment and portfolio review. You are responsible for ensuring that your submissions do not infringe another person's rights.

Service materials are provided for use with your subscription. Access to those materials does not transfer ownership of the service or authorize resale of access. Feedback and AI mentor responses require your judgment and should be checked against the work and context in which you use them.

Employment and liability

Become does not guarantee interviews, job offers, employment, compensation, or a completion date. An employer profile, portfolio review, and mock interviews support preparation. Employers make their own hiring decisions, and you remain responsible for applications and representations about your experience.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the administrator is not responsible for indirect losses or outcomes resulting from reliance on learning feedback. These terms do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restrict mandatory consumer protections. For service or billing concerns, contact [email protected].
